Your phone is enough: why light beats lenses for product photography

Light is what makes a product photo convert

The thing that stops most vendors from photographing their products is a belief: that their phone isn't good enough. That the photos will look amateurish next to brands with studio setups. That gear has to come first.

None of that's true.

The easiest way to prove it: open the product pages of handmade brands you already trust and respect. Count how many of them used a real photography studio. Count how many used a phone next to a window. The phone-and-window number wins almost every time.

What decides whether a product photo converts is the light. Not the lens. Not the megapixels. The light.
